Chiang plays with the interplay of a repeated pattern, which mirrors her environment through colour and empathy. Chiang’s paintings take flat-coloured grounds as a setting for an intricate web of precise shapes and forms, carefully constructed through layers of paint. Hold Your Breath And Close Your Eyes, featured in the exhibition, is hand-tufted by Louise Trotter.
