Great catching up with our friends, @wild_survivors, during a recent knowledge exchange trip to Tanzania. Our @elephantcrisisfund is supporting Wild Survivors' corridor protection programme to keep elephants safe within the Upper Kitete wildlife corridor.

How can we improve the occupancy of the beehive fence to strengthen the elephant buffer? ππ
Loise and Derick from @savetheelephants team brought the solution to life with their advice on hanging catcher boxes!
We love the wild foliage around the fence, but on some sections it can make beehives less visible to a swarm on the move.
Hanging catcher boxes in trees nearby can increase the chance of βcatchingβ a bee swarm. Once settled, the colony is then relocated to their new home along the fence.
Weβll be trialling this soon! Stay tuned for bees on the move πππ
Asanteni sana / thank you so much for all the invaluable advice shared by the Save The Elephants team. Swipe to see the beehive fence in action π
