I spoke to the always interesting and utterly lovely food writer and restaurant critic Tom Parker Bowles about what the royals eat in this weekend’s @fthtsi because it felt timely (!). He has written on the subject properly for the first time for Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album (St James's House). Having felt conflicted addressing royal issues before, he jumped into the subject of royal dining for this Album and seems to have been inspired (I see a book coming), investigating both historical and present day examples (including the culinary foibles of his stepdad Prince Charles and mum Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall). Needless to say I grilled him on exactly who eats what in the current family and discovered some interesting things about eggs, coronation chicken and scones...
