great to work 📸 with you @jodiesmith! and always a pleasure to roll with the great @thelucbrinker @repost • @jodiesmith FUN FACT: i went back and forth in my head about the beauty look quite a bit— all the way till the day of! i wanted to honour the gilded age element of the met gala theme with hair & makeup— wigs and hairpieces were all the rage and makeup was meant to be discrete bc only women of a “certain kind” (🙄)wore it openly back then... but the style of the dress felt so much like it was from an entirely different era and it was giving me burlesque/dancer vibes, so instead, we decided to look to the era the gown invoked. starting from the 20s, all the girlies wore makeup and the pencil thin brow was a big look! @officialsheiks sent me a reference with a modern take on it— a single jewel in the brow— and we took it to the next level with 3! for hair, @ursulastephen showed up and i said NEW PLAN & she came up with this gorgeous finger wave into a low bun gilded with dripping jewels. @natalieminervanails adorned each of my fingers with jewels to continue in that theme. ladies, i adore you so much! you killed it! it was decandent! glamorous! and a beautiful tribute! swipe for a look at the products we used and a cheeky little reference pic that @diet_prada sent me that made me feel seen 😻 PRODUCTS: Gucci Sérum De Beauté Fluide Soyeux Silk Priming Serum Gucci Fluide De Beauté Fini Natural in Shade 570C Gucci Stylo Définition L’Obscur Eyeliner in 01 Black Gucci Stylo Contour des Yeux Khol Eyeliner in 01 Noir Black #gucci
