As a little girl, you get told that you’re pretty. But f*ck pretty. I wanted to grow up and be PRETTY STRONG and PRETTY BADASS and PRETTY RESILIENT, and that’s what pull-ups represent for me. They’re the epitome of upper body strength, and if you can do them - then you know how hard you had to work to get there. As a female and a coach, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing another woman become EMPOWERED through her training and watching how this translates into her attitude towards the rest of her life. And honestly, watching someone go from being discouraged thinking pull-ups are impossible through to witnessing their joy at getting their first one - well, there’s not many journeys I love more.
