The broadcaster was doing a report on Hurricane Ian from a Fort Myers, Florida, parking lot when the audience became infatuated with the rubber on the microphone. Viewers took their opinions to Twitter, as one user wrote, “NBCNewsNow really got this woman out here holding a mic wrapped in a condom up to her face.” ______________________________________________ Galer explained her actions on social media. She said on her Instagram story “A lot of people are asking what it on my microphone... It is what you think it is. It’s a condom. It helps protect the gear. You can’t get these mics wet.
