Another suspected high level member of one of the most prominent wildlife trafficking networks in Africa was arrested yesterday. Abdi Hussein Ahmed had been indicted by US authorities for trafficking of elephant ivory and rhinoceros horns, as well as conspiracy to distribute heroin. A reward of up to US$1 million had been offered for information leading to his arrest and/or conviction. The details of his arrest are yet to be revealed. He is the fifth significant member of this network to be arrested.
