It’s called a ✨LOAD LEG✨. A leg that reduces the load of energy that would otherwise be transferred to the child. The metal load leg found on the Liing infant seat base, runs downward from the base, resting on the vehicle floor. As the crash tests show (load leg vs no load leg) load legs significantly reduce the forces on the baby's head and neck = keep baby's brain and spine safer.
