Did you know there are so many layers to a single eyelash? 🤔🤔 The cuticle is what we are most concerned with as a lash artist, and the one that needs to have the most attention. It’s the outermost layer and works as a protective scale. It can be textured (porous) in different ways, impacting retention and attachment. Even though we can’t see this layer visually, the cortex provides pigment, strength, moisture and texture - to make our jobs as lash artists possible! We’ve always found that the more educated you are AND the more you can educate your clients, the more they trust you as the authority that you are.
