I don’t keep medical cultures in my frig at home !😂😂😂 . . Botox, Dysport, allergy shot serum, Adbry, Eucrisa and moisturizer, dad’s Skyrizi, a couple of epipens, a tube of Winlevi.... All fair game! . But I draw the line at medical biohazards ☣️ . 🙊If you think you have monkey pox, my personal recommendation is to visit your ID clinic, public health clinic, PMD or dermatology clinic WITHIN a hospital for a monkeypox PCR. Stand alone testing centers are part of the overall plan in hotspots per personal on the 🙊pox hotline in ATL. No timeline tho. . 🐵My rational: Swab and transport must be very specific! ☣️No cotton swabs ☣️VTM (viral transport media) only ☣️Or sterile dry containers ☣️Special packing material ☣️Temperature below 8’ C within an hour of collection ☣️Transport on dry ice in special biohazard containers within 3-7 days depending on clinic distance from lab . . ☣️Check the CDC website for updates and forms.... call your state public health agency. . ☣️Call 866-PUB-HLTH in Georgia to request packaging and coordinate transport. . ☣️If you have a relationship with a local lab that already picks up at your office, call them to see if they transport and test for monkeypox. . ☣️Quest takes only VTM ☣️Lab Corps takes only dry swabs .
