Reply to @nickn563 What is the Retinol sandwich technique? The retinol sandwich technique is when you apply a moisturizer first, then apply the retinol and then again moisturizer over top! This helps reduce the strength of the retinol and slows down the absorption process which can help reduce irritation ( a side effect of retinol) When first introducing retinol you may want to start by using a sandwich technique or by applying a facial oil/ moisturizer over top of the retinol. Everyone’s skin is different so not everyone needs to use the sandwich technique! I do recommend using a moisturizer or a facial oil over top of a retinol if you have sensitive skin. Overall, retinol is amazing and I’m absolutely obsessed! I have been using the Dermaquest Retinaldehyde cream (LIB) with the @Sisley Paris black rose facial oils 4 time a week at night time. I am building my skins strength and tolerance and am now applying my retinol without any facial oil sometimes.
