27 on the 27th 🥳🎈 For my 27th Birthday — here’s 7 important lessons I’ve learned so far: 1) LET GO - for my type A people. The ones with a a 1yr, 5yr, 10yr plans. Life comes at you fast and hard. Learn to make peace with the uncertainty of life & let go of rigid plans 2) BET ON YOURSELF - When life gets rocky have faith that youll rise above it. Where you are now is never the end of your story. 3) THINK HIGHLY OF YOURSELF - I grew up really insecure about my looks, ability, & creativity, but you really have to wake up everyday and think you’re the coolest bitch in the world. Deadass!! Speak affirmations to yourself. 4) GIVE YOURSELF GRACE - Stop being so hard on yourself. You’re doing your best with what you have and what you know. When you know better you’ll do better 5) DON’T CONFUSE SOLITUDE FOR LONELINESS - I spent a lot of time getting to know and rediscover myself in moments of solitude. Learn to sit in stillness. Embrace being by yourself. I’m so much more confident in my opinions, my world view, my choices as a result of getting to know myself and blocking outside noise 6) EXPERIENCES >> MATERIAL THINGS - The thought of dying before having lived a rich full life makes me sad. I want to see the world, experience new cultures, meet new people. I made pact with myself at 19 to travel somewhere new for my birthday whether domestic or international to fulfill that greater goal. 7) GROWTH - Every next level of your life will demand a different you.
