As an airline, we have the privilege of traveling in and through the traditional territories of many of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. We recently asked @rrene_m to share how she explores and reconnects with the land close to home. Read her experience below:I think about the journey of which these immaculate forests/ecosystems have gone through... astounding.An environment that can bring our spirits back to us; that can help us feel connected to emotion that we may otherwise push away. To feeling resonance with the sound of fresh, glacier water announcing it’s presence to the surrounding forest, to acknowledging the sway and praise of the branches as they open their palms to the rush of the river.Water is the giver of life and without clean water all life will perish.Every single organism in this forest started as a cell. It learned, adapted, evolved and grew into what it is today. The trees before they were trees were seedlings. I believe to recognize the process and journey of every living being and our land is to appreciate and develop an understanding of the true beauty of growth.Reconnection to the land we live on is vital. It helps us to continue moving forward with wisdom and graceI feel the beauty within. I sense the beauty surrounding me. I close my eyes. Inhale deeply. I breathe in the scent of wet earth and damp trees, in particular, cedar trees. I hear the sounds of the small, sweet birds, flowing water and brush of leaves. These smells and sounds are eternally imprinted in my soul. I smile and find peace. I am connected. #westjet
