On gloomy, slow days like today, part of me feels like a teenager again. Like I’m not allowed to go anywhere or do anything, so I might as well find ways to entertain myself— with books or clothes or cooking something cozy. Today that means sneaking in some reading between meetings and calls: Robert Jones Jr.’s beautiful novel The Prophets has completely sucked me in. Growing up, my mom never cared how late I stayed up. I don’t know if that’s an Indian thing for just a 70s parent thing. But maybe tonight I’ll finish my book with a flashlight under the covers, just to really set the teenage mood ✨
