I’m still emotionally recovering from how perfect this loaf turned out. 🥖🤍
🍞 my easy, go-to sourdough recipe:
300g warm water
10g salt
100g active starter
450g bread flour
1️⃣ Hand mix until the dough looks shaggy, then rest for 30 mins.
2️⃣ Stretch and fold 3–4 times, every 30 mins.
3️⃣ Let it rest at room temp for 6–8 hours.
4️⃣ After proofing, shape the dough and let it rest for another 30 mins.
5️⃣ Place in a banneton (or bowl lined with a clean towel), cover with plastic wrap, and cold-proof overnight 8–12 hrs — or bake the same day! (I prefer cold fermentation for deeper flavor 🥖)
6️⃣ Remove from bowl, score your loaf.
7️⃣ Preheat Dutch oven at 450°F for 1 hour.
8️⃣ Bake covered for 25 mins, then uncover and drop temp to 400°F for another 20 mins.
