We all need time to self soothe, especially those of us surviving and recovering from trauma of many different sorts. If you are a caretaker, please be extra mindful of tending to your own emotional (not to mention physical) needs as well. As you parent your child during these challenging months of global stress and change, teaching them how to stay calm, how to feel safe, please practice re-teaching yourself these same methods and mantras of self care.

We as adults often don’t parent ourselves as gently and thoughtfully as we'd parent a child. Rest, nourish, and heal in the best way you know how, and remember, self-care is not selfish. •
