Replying to @cpiep my whole entire wash cycle routine, live from DAY 8 (i usually go 7-10 days between washes) before you go taking my advice, know: -it’s been almost 4 years since i stopped using heat/flat ironing daily -i have fine hair (strands) just a lot of it (high density) -i do not subscribe to the curly girl method (you do you) -between washes, i use a showercap or put my hair in a bun to shower - especially if i’m refreshing, it’s fine to get a little wet -my goal is not to have the curliest hair, it’s to have big, undone but healthy, low-ish maintenance hair (hence air drying) -i never diffuse unless i’m in a rush (it would be curlier if i did) -i don’t like the feeling of gel, so i don’t use it (it would be curlier if i did) -i’ll always choose volume > definition -this is how i like my hair to look. you can want yours to look different & neither of us is wrong -you can guess the reason a lot of yt folks don’t know how to take care of our curls.
