We're getting there! A new route to Penn Station is quickly rising above the honking cars and barreling big rigs along 30th Street. Expected to open in spring of 2023, the High Line X Moynihan Connector will link the High Line’s Spur to the public plaza at Manhattan West, which will lead to Moynihan Train Hall across 9th Avenue.
The Connector, which broke ground in February this year, consists of two intersecting bridges—the lush Woodland Bridge and the Warren Truss-style Timber Bridge. The majority of the construction activity has been on the Woodland Bridge, which extends east from the High Line’s Spur.
The Woodland Bridge will essentially be a 370-foot-long planter, with its V-shape providing up to five feet of soil depth to support large-scale trees. In the coming months, the Woodland Bridge basin will be filled with soil. We can't wait to start planting and bask in the beauty of this elevated woodland.
The Moynihan Connector is a public-private partnership between Empire State Development, @brookfieldproperties, and the High Line.
