Thirty years ago... two indie music nerds became friends SDSU’s radio station, The Live Wire. They opened a craft beer bar together and called it... The Livewire (@livewirebar). Pure creative larceny. And this weekend, they celebrate 30 years. There will be a party. So, go, raise a glass to a San Diego icon—a dark, red-lit, vinyl-boothed wormhole of joy that smells like hops and barley and punks and misfits who talk about bands and b-sides and bootlegs and the lesser known but equally mighty titans of pop culture. For three damn decades. Long live The Livewire. Link in bio to full story from writer @thedelightedbite about their evolution. The Live Wire’s 30th Anniversary Party will happens Oct. 1 at The Lafayette Hotel’s Mississippi Room (7PM). Some beloved bands—Deadbolt (@deadboltofficialband), The Spits (@the_spits), and Metz (@metz_theband)—will make beautiful noises.
