SABRINA BELLAOUEL • or as I call her Big Sabba. first time I've heard about her was in 2017, I instantly fell in love with everything she represented. when I heard her EP "Cheikh", that was it. I needed to meet her. same year, I went to @thehopband's crib to play them 'FEAR2018' since I wanted them on that project. that's when I met her. huge mutual respect since we absouletly loved each other's music, it was an honour to me to learn that such a brilliant mind could love my craft the same way I loved hers. after two sessions with all of 'em, I ended jumping on a demo they made, that eventually became "Just Friends". since then, Sabrina has been a huge part of my musical life. you can hear her on "Encore...", on "Inside", on "Melody", I've produced "J'essaie" for her, etc. speaking about it: fast-forward to 2019. worldwide lockdown. lockdown allowed me to dive back in myself, parts I couldn't see anymore because of all the noise the industry and the system were making in my ears. I made some of my best music during these times. one day, I pictured myself dancing under the sun, that's when "Pichet" was created. I remember dropping the minute-long version on Instagram; everybody went nuts like "drop the full version!" 😂... when that was actually the full version. ended up calling @dani.lascar and @nwogang to create a bridge with me, and I needed Sabba for some ad-libs. well let me tell you: the "Pichet" session was one of the BEST sessions of my life. wish we filmed it. but we were so inspired, we just kept going... ideas on some back and forth shit, the energy was unreal. and with what everything she brought to it, she went from "ad-libs" to being a feature. she gave me way more than I expected, and this is just her. so pure, and her soul is as wonderful as her looks. to everybody on this planet: I pray that you all have a Sabrina in their lives. she's way more than a collaborator. she's like a musical lover to me. 4 real. I love you so much, and I thank God for every single moment we spent exchanging, creating and listening to A1 music. you inspire me so much. on the daily. oh, and I miss you. let's meet again soon.
