And to that end, it didn’t happen overnight 🫶🏼. I grew up in a single-parent household where money was tight, every dollar was muscle-gripped and finances were something to be feared. It’s taken me years to feel in control of my money but, to feel freedom around it? That’s a new one and only a recent realization when I didn’t check my bank account on payday until a few days later. Even a few months ago, this wouldn’t have been the case. It got me thinking about the ways in which I’ve created safety around money the past few years, and the little shifts I made to feel secure, confident and valuable on the whole.
