NYC - 30/09/22 Life is just about having fun really. You can’t have too much of it and it makes every day better. Sometimes you are on a path that makes having fun and smiling so hard but those tough days don’t last forever. I’ve been on a magical trip away to the city that never sleeps and it gave me multiple moments of feeling so grateful I am alive. I had to hold back tears (happy ones!) because I couldn’t quite believe how far I’ve come - in the last year but also in 24hrs. Deaths door to thriving ... Cold Bristol to sunny NYC!! Tomorrow marks the start of breast cancer awareness month. It hits me quite hard. This year it’s mixed with the holiday blues - what a tear jerking combo! I remember feeling quite numb about October last year, I was more angry that I was given this terrible card. This year I’m hoping I can feel powerful and positive about the month of October and know that I’m doing a tiny bit to help raise awareness. I’ve had almost a full week of minimal cancer thoughts, aches or pains - hallelujah - until the flight home where the air pressure made me feel like my scar was going to burst open and all my joints were terribly painful! Okay now though after a bath. Tuesday is the penultimate phesgo injection the final one the end of October - seems quite poignant to be finishing the very last pieces of the cancer treatment puzzle during breast cancer awareness month. Lots of amazing campaigns starting tomorrow, including @loungeunderwear 💕 If you see any, share them, talk about them, remind yourself and your friends to check themselves. Cancer isn’t going away but detecting early might save your life and keep you having all the fun you deserve 💗
