Born within 24 hours of each other. Same year, a day apart. Virgil, my brother, I will miss you dearly. I’ll miss our kindred spirit shorthand — you always got “it”. Will miss your magnanimous spirit and delightful laugh. Our relentlessly pushing each other to go farther and wider with the footprint and impact of our most cherished ideas. So many conversations, ideations, white-boarding, and eventual manifestations. Most we got to, some we didn’t. Your eloquent way with words and wisdom that always brought such clarity to me during many creative conundrums. Will deeply miss bonding and identifying over the limitless potential of what we could reach and achieve as two young black creatives sketching and painting on the unforgiving canvas of corporate America, at the highest level. You were an inspiration, such a special light. It’s truly amazing to see how much you meant to so many. And the ‘generational wealth’ you spoke of is incalculable.
