Who doesn’t get a little melancholic towards the of the year? Although we prefer to look forward we also very much appreciate all the great things that happened in the past twelve months. In the next two weeks we’ll be sharing some of this year’s highlights, and we’d love to know what your favourite DRIFT moment was! To kick off this series, we look at our Little Drifter currently number 10 of 200 trunks being exhibited at Louis Vuitton’s ‘200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries’. Drifter is a performative installation of a floating concrete block. An object once characterless, is given personality through motion, something once still is given life; creating a juxtaposition which could be likened to the relationship between nature and humanity. It calls upon the viewer to reconsider our relationships with our surroundings. This sense of disbelief creates wonder; chaos versus order helping us to appreciate the stillness in the everyday.
