Zinc and titanium dioxide are pretty amazing ingredients... I just bridle at the suggestion that they’re the only ones we should be using. That they’re universal. I cringe when I see coral reef safe marketing (as an industry, we are obsessed with fear and panic based marketing, I have to point it out when I see a brand I like marketing to it because we don’t have to do this). And, whenever I see ‘sheer finish’ I know that if it isn’t a Fenty level of color match... it’s only sheer for people like me to get the stated spf on the bottle (you need a hefty dollop of spf, around 1/4 a tsp, to get proper coverage).
Ultimately I know the beauty industry can get to a place where they deliver on claims. I know people are grateful to know the realities but until then, just remember like any ingredient there are limitations. For some it’s a holy grail, for some it doesn’t work out as well. This is ok.
@scamander14 was able to test @summerfridays and for the level of spf coverage it’s pretty good/impressive from a cast perspective! I found my skin got very dry by EOD but all I had to do was reapply some moisturizer then SPF and it resolved. Another pro? Makeup did not budge. Eyes didn’t hurt. Great for sweaty hot days.
