On Sunday, September 25th, I’ll be cooking dishes inspired by moments in time that remind me of my mom as part of @1to1foods Roof Stoop series @brooklyngrange’s rooftop farm in Sunset Park. I’ll be joined by my dad and sisters @anhbuu & @tiffbtran, who will be flying in from California with fruits in tow from our backyard garden. The event was originally scheduled to take place in July with my mom as co-chef, but it had to be canceled in the wake of her passing. In honor of her legacy, $5 from every ticket will be donated to Truc Lam Temple, a place where my mom sought community and peace in her later years of life. She played a central role in building the temple, adorning its altars, and knitting together the community that upholds it today.
