Never did I imagine when I started my Mr. Kate blog in 2009 to document my random creative projects - the things that I just had to make and express, to whomever was watching or listening but mostly for myself. Never did I imagine what it would turn into today. I went from DIYing my own rental apartment to helping friends and always documenting the process. A year or so later my YouTube channel took off to the point that Joey could join on to help run the biz (and build and hang stuff lol!), we bought a house, wrote a book, started decorating for other people from all walks of life who reached out for help, some of them being top digital creators who all trusted us to interpret their unique perspectives and personalities. My DMs are always filled with requests to come into your homes and help you realize your creative potential, and I don’t take that lightly! When we got the chance to develop an app, there were options, should we do a game? Nah that didn’t feel quite right yet, what felt right was to make a creative destination. A place where all these like minded people that I’ve been able to CONNECT with via the power of creative expression could come to a hub that strives to meet you where you feel best about yourself. A place where your aesthetic is realized, defined, refined and emboldened. A toolkit that gives you a joy in creating in a fluid and individual way, bringing you to an end product you want to share! That’s what I love about being a Creative Weirdo - the unabashed permission to always be myself, to love myself through what I can bring to the world around me. That is our AEOU ‘Aesthetically You’ app developed by me and Joey (and a team of crazy talented and passionate app pros!) for you because we want to see the way you see the world.
