One of the many reasons I love doing what I do and being an artist is when people see themselves in my artwork! At Brighton Pride last week when I was marching behind the Costa van I designed; someone told me that they heard someone in the crowd, shout out loudly “THAT’S ME!” and pointed to themselves and then at this character, who proudly surfs with their visible top surgery scars. As a trans-masc person who is also in the process of seeking top-surgery; this melted my heart that someone felt seen and celebrated within my artwork🥹🏳️‍⚧️🏄‍♂️ Side note, I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and this amazing sunshine we’ve got at the moment in the UK. (Fellow pals who are binding in this heat; we got this😭😅 take it easy!)
