My most memorable owl encounter was with the beautiful Great Gray Owl. On a secluded backroad here in Albert a couple falls ago I spotted this one hunting in a opening a couple hundred meters from the road. I stopped to watch and not long after stopping it flew down and landed on a fence post right beside my window. It stared at me as to say “what are you and why are you in my backyard”. After nearly 10 minutes of this crazy close up visit it flew back up to its hunting perch. Experiences with like this with wildlife will never get old. I absolutely love getting to see these animals healthy and happy in their habitat.
