A few photos from a shoot I did with @nyadhuor earlier this year. I was feeling a bit unmotivated and bored one day and hit her up to see if she wanted to go shoot. The only thing was I was in Atlanta and she was in LA. We decided to meet in the middle and a few days later we were in New Mexico. Spent 3 days shooting at the dunes then celebrated at a hot spring.
There is a phenomenon where as a person ages time seemingly moves more quickly. There is actually a Harvard study on this which is quite interesting. The study shows that this phenomenon happens because over time, the rate at which we process visual information slows down, and this is what makes time 'speed up’.
Essentially, as a child everything is new so we slow down and process these new things making time appear to be moving slower. As we age the monotony of life sets in. We see the same things every day, do the same things, and because of this, time seems to speed up.
It’s the spontaneous moments of life. Doing things that are different, things that are exciting, learning new skills or seeing new places. Walking instead of driving. It’s in doing these things that time starts to slow down once more as our brains are no longer focused on the monotony, but rather, the new exciting things that life has to offer. There’s a lot to learn from children, the desire to learn is amongst the most important. Life can be a wonderful thing with new and exciting corners to explore and learn for yourself... that is, if you search for it.
