Want a civil service career with the City of Los Angeles? Apply for the City’s Targeted Local Hire Program (TLH)! This program offers Angelenos a pathway into City civil service via full-time, paid, on-the-job training for entry-level positions. If hired, candidates will have an initial 6 month on-the-job training period, followed by a 6 month probationary period. Once participants pass probation, the candidate is transitioned to full-time regular civil service employment. Candidates can apply for two career tracks: Vocation Worker pathway, which offers jobs ranging from custodian to warehouse and toolroom worker or Office Trainee pathway. With the help of the Boyle Heights WorkSource Center, Erica Olague applied to the TLH Program and got hired as an Administrative Clerk at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT).
