I got Tula from the pound 14 years ago. She has seen me through failed relationships, terrible mistakes, and bad decisions. She was also the ring bearer at my wedding. She licked up so many tears my first year of sobriety. She once ate an entire subway sandwich the way a python eats a goat. She loved warm laundry. She would do anything for pizza. In her younger years she was a parkour mountain goat. In her older years she was a comforting hot water bottle at night. Last night her little heart gave out. We went to the emergency room, and I came back with an empty collar. She was such a good dog. So mischievous. So sweet. I miss her terribly.
