The final TWO - 04/10/22 Can’t believe it, the final two doses of Phesgo this month. Then that’s it. DONE. Last week loving life in NYC, this week being prodded and poked with needles! I also had to have a blood test this time as my last one was out of date and they need to check levels regularly. Luckily mine all seem fine and this may well be the last blood test I need for quite a while! Things I’ve learnt over the last 16 rounds of this treatment ... 1. It’s much less painful if done in the top of the thigh rather than the side. 2. Wearing a skirt or shorts makes the process less stressful compared to having to sit with your trousers round your ankles!! 3. Relaxing and concentrating on breathing is key. It makes the 8 minutes go quicker and you can zone out. 4. Three weeks goes super quick. I feel like this treatment has made months of my life vanish as they come round so quickly! 5. Take your mask off while you have it done. It helps stay calm and cooler and relaxed. The more tense you are the more it hurts. 6. Take something to distract you. Phone, headphones, whatever helps keep your mind busy. 7. The first part of the injection STINGS, but once this passes it’s okay, just sit still! Roll on October 25th for an anxious but exciting start to life AFTER cancer treatment! ✌🏼
