When I was 8 years old my parents and I endangered our lives crossing the border in search of “The American Dream”. Because of my parent’s work ethic, I had a privileged childhood but that never stopped me from running into racism and oppression from Americans. After 17 years in the US, I have finally found a community I fit in thanks to the Chicago Drag Scene.
