At this point we all know the adage the best sunscreen is the one you want to use (@ranellamd has a lovely Ranella-ism on this) and reapply (if you’re inside all day, T&C apply). It’s not that there aren’t great formulas in the US... they exist! They’re largely expensive and I find... you have to make concessions. I’m tired of having to rinse out my eyes by 11am or having super dry skin or is what I would consider expensive. $60 for 50mL? Ouch. Conversely, I swoon every time I try a new SPF from abroad. Most of the sunscreens I use in the US are expensive (except BGS kids which imo is elite!! I also like @vacationinc for body) If you want to know why abroad tends to have great spf formulas... The simple answer is they have newer filters that are more innovative. They’re accessible at most pharmacies in the case of Europe. They’re a delight to reapply. The US is behind because of how we regulate SPF. I want regulated SPF in the US (do NOT want it to be a cosmetic) but is it annoying? Absolutely. Part of the reason r&d is so expensive in the US is because you spend a lot of time trying to do the best with filters that are dated. Speaking from experience 🫠 Some of my fav SPFs from Korea as I’m not super jazzed on the pricing of EU SPFs on reselling sites. ($40 for la roche posay? Non merci madame) - Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen - Isntree Watery Gel - Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun - Miisha makes some lovely waterproof SPFs - All linked in bio Can buy most of these on Soko Glam or yes style but I like Stylevana. I know there were shipping issues so I reached out and my code INF10Charlotte gets you 10% off should also get you priority packing dates (ie leaves warehouse faster). #spf #sunscreen #beauty #skincare
