@lindasimpson was at the core of the New York City Drag scene during the industry's golden era when it was still underground, prior to becoming a mainstream movement. Simpson could not have anticipated that the casual photos she captured in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s during memorable parties in legendary New York City clubs would later narrate the origins of the Drag world. Through her projects, which include fanzines such as “My Comrade,” “The Drag Explosion,” and expositions commemorating these works, Simpson provides a glimpse into the past, enabling a first-person view of the frenetic nights that shaped the Drag industry. From her own origins to her professional work, Linda Simpson shares with ODDA her story, creative view, and the roots of the Drag world. “I that was a way of allowing the public to see that Drathinkg wasn’t perverted and sick, but could be friendly, fun, creative, and appealing.” IN PICTURES 1.
