hedwig and the angry inch... my, what a gift you have been. i really don’t have the words but i will try before alec and i drive home. i am about to delve into one of those sappy, little theater kid closing posts, so avert your gaze if you must: i have never, and will never, do a show like “hedwig and the angry inch” ever again. nothing will top the raw love, emotion, tenacity, and fierce presence that i felt on the stage with @alec.diem every night. it was a gift to witness and share this story with him that i will carry with me forever. exploring this genderfuck of a show has been so euphoric. who knew playing a croatian drag king could be so good for the soul? i swear to god, i learned something new about myself every night playing yitzhak. it has been a dream role since i saw lena hall on tour at the fisher theater in Detroit in 2017...and it is greater than 17 year old Ash could’ve ever dreamed. i have so many people to thank for this wild ride. @adamberry and @thebennyberry thank you for believing in my silly little self-tapes and trusting me to take on this behemoth of a show. i’m forever thankful to you both. @kyle_pleasant_creative thank you for helming this beautiful love child and watering it into such a gorgeous beast. thank you to all of my gorgeous band members that forever will be my Angry Inch (@benjamin.morren.music, @rikkibates, @andrewsheranian, Yarron, Caleb, and Cliff)! thank you @justin_lahue, @kathywittman, and @woxtoby for your brilliant visuals, live feed, and projections. thank you @aspen.d99 and @michaelclarkwonson for the stunning lights and everything in between! thank you Chris Page for our CRAZY sound! and thank you to @chan_992 and carolyn for holding down the projections and the quickest of all quick changes! i am forever changed by this show and these people and provincetown. this is a blessing i will look back on fondly for the rest of my life. thank you to everyone who came out to see us and showed us love. and finally, i leave this crazy, beautiful, human stew of a show with these parting words: know in your soul, like your blood knows the way from your heart to your brain, knows that you’re whole 🫶
