The most precious of all jewels, the diamond, is used not only as a decorative stone, but also as an important constructive element in our tourbillon timepieces. All A. Lange & Söhne timepieces featuring a tourbillon have at least one, sometimes two diamond endstones, which serves as an axial limitation of the oscillating system. Diamonds have often been used in Lange pocket watches. Back then, the quality of a watch could be determined by the use of diamonds in the movement. In our modern-day tourbillons this tradition lives on: the two bearings for the delicate cage are therefore each limited by a diamond endstone.
