Today we say goodbye to some all-time Agrabah classics: the man, the myth, the legend @thejonathanfreeman & the gem of gems @oliviadonalson In case you didn’t know, Jonathan was the ORIGINAL voice of Jafar in the 1992 movie of @aladdin (not to mention an original Broadway company member) and has carried the villainous mantle brilliantly for over 30 years. But here’s the thing: he’s not bad, he’s just drawn that way. He is a class act and a mensch, to boot. He’s always ready with an amazing anecdote from his storied career, a delicious treat, a deli or pastry recommendation, a bawdy joke, and is an overall Broadway and Disney legend and he will be sorely missed in this building. On a personal note, if you’d told little 8 year old Brad (who obsessively watched the Aladdin VHS 100s of times in the 90s) that I’d get to share the stage with this classic of the Disney villain canon, I would not have believed you. It’s been a surreal treat each day. You also have not LIVED til Jonathan has wished you “L’Shanah Tovah” in his iconic silken bass. As for Olivia, well, what can I say other than she is a STAR, people! Olivia is the heart and soul of Agrabah. She’s our cruise director extraordinaire, makes a MEAN pickleback, is laugh-til-you-cry funny, always has a kind word and a smile, and is a legit supernova of talent. I can’t wait to watch her inevitably meteoric rise in this business. To know her is to love her and as her fortune teller character might predict, “I see great things for her.”
