Probably one of the most iconic views in world travel, sunrise over Siem Reap’s Angkor Wat was something I was never going to miss whilst on my recent trip to Cambodia. Here’s a few travel tips if you are hoping to capture a view like this: 1. Check the exact time the sun rises – aim to arrive around 30 minutes before to capture that early glow. 2. Plan your transport – Having a guide can be useful to drop you off and speak to any locals who flag you down along the way. 3. Stick around afterwards – You’ll have most of the temple grounds to yourself, before the midday heat. 4. Take a tripod – For the best low light shots, and to make the most of those juicy reflections. 5. Go soon – Cambodia is fully open for business, get there soon before the crowds return. Alternative tip: Plan for a multi-day visit in Siem Reap, this way you can experience the sunrise from both Angkor Wat and Bayon Temples. Whereas Angkor Wat might be the most well-known, Bayon is a magical experience minus the crowds 🇰🇭
