I found a collection of my movie tickets from Summer '99 to Summer '01 at my parent's house. I'm surprised they've survived multiple moves. It was an interesting walk down memory lane. Do you remember seeing any of these in theaters? First up is 1999: My first time seeing R-rated movies in theaters which was tough because I wasn't old enough, but my parents would usually buy the tickets for us. Still like a lot of these movies, but probably not as much as I loved them when I was 15. From left to right, MYSTERY MEN, AMERICAN PIE, THE SIXTH SENSE (twice!) THREE KINGS, FIGHT CLUB (bought with a senior discount, how appropriately anarchistic!), BRINGING OUT THE DEAD, THE GREEN MILE, MAN ON THE MOON, THE HURRICANE, and ANY GIVEN SUNDAY. 2000, Pt. 1: Still catching up on some of the class of '99 at the top of '00. I remember having to wait until January to see all the buzzy Oscar films from the year before. From left to right, MAGNOLIA, AMERICAN BEAUTY, THE BEACH, SCREAM 3, U-571, MISSION TO MARS, HIGH FIDELITY, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2, THE KID (why did I see this in theaters?), X-MEN, WHAT LIES BENEATH (the scariest movie I had ever seen), and THE PERFECT STORM. 2000 Pt. 2: No movies all August? Can't imagine I had anything better to do... Things pick back up in the fall with a few all-time classics in the fall though, and a few all-time duds. From left to right, NURSE BETTY, ALMOST FAMOUS, MEET THE PARENTS, PAY IT FORWARD, THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE (This is a good time to point out that seeing these movies didn't mean I had good taste. I thought this was one of the best films ever made after I got out of the screening), LITTLE NICKY, UNBREAKABLE, THE GRINCH, and CAST AWAY. 2001: Again kicking the year off with some 2000s leftovers... A wild collection of high brow-low brow here which probably made me the person I am today. From right to left, FINDING FORRESTER, TRAFFIC, SNATCH, CROUCHING TIGER, HANNIBAL, THE MEXICAN, POLLACK, BLOW, JOE DIRT, THE MUMMY RETURNS, PEARL HARBOR, SHREK, PLANET OF THE APES, MOULIN ROGUE. Not sure why I stopped collecting the stubs, but I wish I kept going!
