ACCESSING CREATIVITY w/UNCONVENTIONAL (YET SCIENCE-SUPPORTED) TOOLS •
-
Most of us think of creativity as something that you either have or you don’t but research tells us creativity is accessible to all of us. The key is to engage in divergent thinking to come up with new ideas and convergent thinking to implement those ideas.
-
Divergent thinking is easier for some people, but challenging for most. On the new episode of the Huberman Lab podcast, I discuss the relationship between mood, dopamine, and divergent thinking. I also describe several tools to increase divergent thinking, including something called open monitoring meditation, which is unconventional compared to other types of meditation.
-
You can learn exactly how to do that and about other tools to reliably access creativity on the episode.
-
You can find it in all formats (with references and links to scientific resources) by going to hubermanlab.com Everything is timestamped so you can navigate quickly to the topics most of interest to you.

Please put your questions in the comments section below this post and as always, thank you for your interest in science!
