Therefore, this book by Edward Ruscha is my favorite artwork of the Stedelijk Museum. It is currently not on view, that's why we're at the depot today. As the name suggests it shows every building on the Sunset Strip around 1966. He drove through the strip to photograph all of these houses, and went back years later to photograph the strip in the exact same way. It captures buildings and bars where so many of my favorite LA memories lay.
