I tracked my cycle with a plain notebook for years before ever getting a “cycle journal” they are not essential whatsoever, but it has been fun using a journal made with my cycle in mind I also have used an array of resources from books, podcasts, journals and also simply talking to other menstruators about their experience and what works for them to learn more about cycles in general, which has helped me learn about mine Some pages online that have helped me with cycle tracking: I love @cyclewithkylah as she talks about everything related to understanding the different phases of your cycle, to tips on diet, and even daily products that support hormone health…this page has been monumental in my cycle tracking journey I also love @fertilityawarenessproject as she shares great materials and even classes you can join to learn about it. She talks about things I wish I learned in health class and think everyone should know about what she has to say I love @blumewomb as she helps me see what a woman living in tune with her cycle can look like, and that in itself is so powerful You are magical, you have an internal way to check-in throughout the month and tracking your cycle can be a great way to pick up on trends that happens throughout the month which can help you understand yourself in a different way
