The Black and Brown Equity Coalition is excited to announce that we are taking our community organization to the next level by opening up membership. As staunch advocates for racial and transgender equity in Cherry Grove and Fire Island Pines this will help us fulfill our mission to amplify BIPOC/TGNB voices and create a path to community leadership.⁠ ⁠ WHO CAN JOIN?⁠ Membership is available to anyone who wants be active in making Fire Island a place that is welcoming and celebratory to the most marginalized groups in the LGBTQ+ community.⁠ ⁠ HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?⁠ Membership costs $50 and is valid until October 1, 2023. After that memberships will be annual.⁠ ⁠ The cost of our membership is roughly the cost of one latte a month. All paying members have the opportunity to sponsor memberships for people who can’t afford our membership. If you would like to be a member but find our dues inaccessible, please reach out to us directly.⁠ ⁠ WHAT ARE THE PERKS?⁠ Join our quarterly Accomplice Meetings where we update you on what we have in the works and provide you with an opportunity to give feedback and suggestions. This is one of the best opportunities to have your voice heard.⁠ ⁠ As a BaBEC Accomplice you will have the opportunity to join, lead and/or suggest Action Committees. This is a great opportunity to make a tangible impact in the community.
