Late night edit vol. 2 from @lambofgod set the other night, dedicated to Mr. @drandallblythe. My heart pounds as I jot this down. This one is rather a diary entry for myself so I won’t forget it, but hope it’s an enjoyable read for you. To the center metal riser comes Randy Blythe. “Damn, that really him.” Nervousness bubbles up to surface in mild disbelief. He acknowledges the audience and proceeds to sway back and forth almost ghostly like - yet with fiery eyes set firmly to the ground. Sharpened, charged and contained. The inkling and anticipation of something is about to fucking explode ups my heart rate even some more. After a few seconds in he then looks up and howls at the top of his lungs, twice. No microphone. Just this raw, unfiltered, and unhinged AF animalistic growl straight from his vocal chords penetrating right into my ear canals. The moment froze and I shut down. I didn’t see that coming. My shutter kept bursting because I couldn’t even move my damn finger. Another mere second later the very familiar growl bursts through the loud speakers and the explosion and glistening lights follow- the rest is history. That moment, thinking back, froze and burned at the same time. The loudest silence and all the contradictions in the world made complete sense in that 15 seconds. Definitely not my most detailed/sharp images with fancy lights, but this is what I’d dreamt of capturing. Undeniable charisma revealing and beaming in the barest and most simplistic form. Even the colors are in the way. Strip it all the fuck down, the photos said. The energy so massive it consumed everyrhing around. Undoubtedly one of best seconds of my shooting career thus far. I’m no poet at heart by any means and my vocabulary being very limited due to language barrier puts a damper, but hope I got to share a bit of this extraordinary thing I got to feel with you. Oh what a man, that Randy. And what a lucky gal I am. Thank you @adrenaline_pr again for this incredible gift of an opportunity.
