In the early 50s, it started to be recognized as “sidewalk surfing” - a fresh, new wave. Skateboarding is a rebellious, creative, untethered individual that unapologetically expresses itself anywhere it goes. Skaters paint the concrete with their creaks, zoom past traffic using the wind as their engine and their legs as the steering wheel. Skateboarding is a teacher - In resilience, the value in endless failure, and endurance. Skateboarding gives, but never owes.
