nana, it’s been one month since you’ve passed away. i think about you every single day in the shining sun, the playlist i made for you, the necklace you gave me for christmas that i wear everyday, and the clothes i took from your closet (sorry by the way). ive been struggling to find the right words for this, so i decided to take this opportunity to share some of my favorite things about you. even though i won’t ever find anyone as spontaneous, goofy, and lovable as you, I’m beyond grateful for the childhood you gave all of us. you made every visit truly magical by letting us climb the trees in your butterfly garden, bringing your camera and taking pictures of us wherever we went, taking us to the lake and flying kites, making easter cakes with us (with way too much frosting), the list was endless. i missed not getting a valentine’s day card from you, i know you would’ve sent a different homemade one to each member of the family. im so glad i kept those holiday cards over the years, i could’ve never imagined the value they’d have now. you truly cared about each and every person you knew, especially family. i know my words can’t describe how much of an amazing human you were to all, anyone was truly lucky if they had the chance to meet you. i’ll always have a special place in my heart for you, you impacted my life in such a special and significant way. even though your apartment will never feel the same without you, the memories will last a lifetime. you were gone too soon, i love you forever and always nana.
