Hurly-Burly, the new group exhibition from Rachel Whiteread, Phyllida Barlow and Alison Wilding, takes its name from Macbeth – and the three artists, friends for 40 years, have been dubbed “the three witches”. It’s a rare opportunity to see the work of a trio of great British sculptors, and to celebrate their unique relationship, which began in a teaching room in Brighton Polytechnic in 1982. But how witchy are they? “I probably would have been burned at the stake,” concedes Whiteread.
