#EXHIBITION Bernard Piffaretti & HoSup Hwang 《Résonner》 2022. 10. 28 - 2022. 11. 20 Gana Art Bogwang A single, blue vertical line in the middle is the most symbolic mark on Bernard Piffaretti's recent painting Untitled (2021). His 'Piffaretti system' is the basic protocol that paints one of the panels first, then attempts to create an imperfect duplication on the other side of the dividing line. While the viewers cannot distinguish copy and the original image once both panels are finished, there are also painterly details such as lines and drippings that are impossible to make an exact replication. These subtle differences between the two panels generate a sense of resonance within the image where colorful, unconstrained brush marks and grid coexist. @bernardpiffaretti 중앙을 가로지르는 한 줄의 푸른 선은 베르나르 피파레티의 신작 <Untitled>(2021)에서 가장 상징적인 첫 번째 표식이다. 그의 예술세계를 관통하는 '피파레티 시스템'은 수직의 선을 기준으로 캔버스를 이등분한 상태에서, 한쪽의 이미지를 다른 쪽 화면에 불완전하게 구현하는 일관된 작업패턴을 의미한다. 비록 관람객은 그의 작품에서 원본과 복제를 구분할 수 없지만, 언뜻 보면 ‘거의’ 일치하는 두 추상적 형태는 선의 굵기와 각도, 캔버스 위로 점점이 떨어지거나 흘러내리는 우연적인 드리핑(dripping) 등에서 차이를 보인다. 이러한 두 이미지의 미묘한 불일치가 화려한 색상의 자유로운 붓자국과 그리드가 공존하는 화면의 깊은 울림을 자아내고 있다.
